The new Season is almost upon us and we haven’t even worked up a sweat by golly!!
Well that is all about to change, as Pre-Season Training begins on Sunday the 29 of January 2012  at JK Grant Reserve, Altona, 10-00am—12-00, also known as the home of the Altona Hockey Club. The facilities are located at Sugargum Road, Altona, which is off Civic Parade.

After the 29th, training will be held every Wednesday and Sunday at JK Grant Reserve, starting at 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. respectively. We already have some practice matches lined up beginning in mid-February, so fitness is paramount to ensure we get off to a good start this year.

If there are any issues, then please let Jamie, Andy Armitage, Jason, Steve or Ray Vella know.

As per last year, there will be a charge of $5 payable on a Wednesday night; this (lazy) $5 will get you your first drink (alcoholic, or soft) on a Wednesday night and use of the Reserve.  We will also use any monies left over to purchase raffle tickets from the Hockey Club, thereby supporting them, for supporting us.

If you know of any other (decent) players who would like to try their luck at the BUFC bring them down and introduce them to Jason, Ray and or Steve Vella.
No tyre kickers, fat bas#tards (metaphorically speaking)  simple souls and or or drug dependents, need apply, we are overrun with them as it is. {Unless of course your first name starts with D, and last name is Maradonna}

See you down there. Slainte. Brian.

P.S. Check out the photo of Steve Ainalis at Celtic Park, December 2011, in his BUFC and Hoops gear. Steve informs me that he will be back home in Feb and defrosted by March 12.

The 2nd of October 2011.  As I saw it. Paterson B.

So the great day dawned, the Cup Final, who would have thought that the Olde Bhoys would get past the first round, never mind make it to the Final. Having you home ground called the 'Home of the Dreamer's' does help. Alas the dream was to get a heavy piece of R E M after one minute, as that is all the time it took for our opposition today, the Campbellfield Lions  to score. It has to be said it was a exceedingly unlucky goal to loose, any other day; Mark, the volunteer, stand in goalkeeper would have saved it. Still the dream wasn't over by a long shot, the Old Bhoys are in fact used to being at least a goal down before they come to thier senses, and get stuck in.
To this end the Bhoys did in fact score. (To be continued).

BUFC 2 v E.T.A. Buffalo 1

Hi all, a fast and furious game on Sunday the 24th of September at the Chile Sports (concrete like) ground, saw the Olde Bhoys go from being one goal down, to having leveled the score by half time.
After the regulation 90 minutes it was still 1-1, however the (never say die) Olde Bhoys proceeded to take the lead in the first 10 minutes of extra time and held out for the next 10 minute half, thus putting themselves into the Cup Final to be played next Sunday.

It has been over a decade since the club had a team in the cup final, so this was no easy fete by any stretch of the imagination. Congratulation to all the O Bs (especially Jamie) who thoroughly deserve to have made it to the 2011 Cup Final.

The Premier League team, just could not find enought steam, althought they had a couple of great chances, to take them into their Cup Final and went down to a credible 2-0 loss to the Albert Park Spiders in the Semi Finals. Better luck next year.

Come one, come all, the BUFC are in the Cup Final, see you there, I will be the one wearing red and white.
Slainte. B. P.

After a gritty win against ETA Buffalo in the cup semi finals last Sunday, this weekend sees the Olde Bhoys take on Campbellfield Lions in the Invitation Cup Final at the home of Chile Sport. Kick-off is at 11:00 a.m., so if everyone could be there by 10:00 a.m., that would be great. As the Seniors have (unfortunately) finished their season, any support from them would be most appreciated: let's face it, it's not every season BUFC make a final of some (nay, any) description, so try and get down to cheer on the lads.

The ground details for those who weren't there last week (and why not), or for those who want to pass it on to anyone I've missed off the list are as follows:
Laverton Park Reserve. Victoria Street. Laverton. Melways map: 53.Reference F10.
Cheers. Jamie.

BUFC 3 v South Port Utd 3

14 Aug 11. Sunny 17deg. 12-00 kick of.

An end to end stramash, at the home to the 'Dreamers'
A good supporting crowd in the 2nd half, mostly Oldhe Bhoys, couldn't give the Barnys the edge.
Another game that slipped away from the Premier League team.
